The Kuppuswami Sastri Research Institute, Mylapore has been honouring senior Sanskrit scholars every year with a cash award under the Kombur Ramabhadran Endowment. This year this award is to be given to Sri Azhisur Srinivasachar who is 93 years old and is an authority in Vaishnava agamas.
Azhisur Srinivasachar is still active, reads and writes a lot and is also much sought after for performing various festivals in temples.
The function to honour him will be held on Oct.5, 6 p.m. at the Sanskrit College premises, says a note from
