The 14th edition of Bharat Sangeet Utsav, organised by Carnatica and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will be held from Nov 1 to 9 this year. The proceeds will benefit Sukrtham Foundation which helps in educating underprivileged girl students.
The inaugural event will be held on Nov. 1, there will be performances by Soorya Gayathri and Rahul Vellal. The Bharat Sangeet Excellence award will be given to vocalist S. Sowmya and the Bharat Sanskrithi Award for Cultural Excellence will be given to Kuldeep Pai. A concert, ‘Sthree Shakthi- women empowerment’, by vocalist Sudha Ragunathan and Pt. Ronu Majumdar will follow.
The nine day festival will include a villupaatu kutchery, thematic presentations and a special carnatic pattimandram (debate). On the last day, vocalist Aruna Sairam will perform in collaboration with ‘Thayir Sadam Project’ featuring SaPa choir. At Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet.
