With just a few days to go for Onam (Sept. 11), a few restaurants in Mylapore have started curating special Onam ‘sadhya’ (lunch).
Ente Keralam restaurant, that is known for offering authentic Kerala food will offer sadhya from tomorrow (Sept.7) till Sept. 15. The spirit of Onam festival is very prominent at this restaurant with pookalams, thoranams and floral decorations. (shown in picture)
“To keep the taste authentic a majority of the ingredients are sourced from Kerala,” says Unnikrishnan Namboodiri, a temple priest, and an Ayurvedic doctor from Thrissur, who has been preparing the traditional sadhya here since the last 14 years.
The sadhya at this restaurant will have 25 dishes, including a variety of pickles, chips, payasams, pradhmans, kaalan, olan, pachadi, thoran, papaddam and more. Priced at Rs 649 (price may vary on Sept.11).

Thaligai restaurant in Luz Church Road will be offering Onam sadhya on Sept.11. from 11.30 a.m.to 3.30 p.m. It will have 19 dishes, including puli inji, karamani thoran, parrupu vadai, mor kuzhambhu and more.
