More than 140 students of class X of Vidya Mandir, Mylapore came together to clean up the chitrakulam tank early yesterday morning.
The boys and girls, who assembled there at 7 a.m., came dressed in colourful sports uniforms. They came well prepared with tools and gloves and were there for about two hours clearing the bed of plastics, weeds and other waste.
They later formed a human chain to move the debris to the dustbin outside the temple tank. The tank is managed and maintained by Sri Adi Kesava Perumal Temple, Mylapore.
