Vetri Vilaas, a vegetarian restaurant has recently opened at R. K. Mutt Road, Mylapore.
It is located at the junction of Venkatesa Agraharam Street and R. K. Mutt Road. Too many businesses have opened and then shut down here.
The restaurant promises to offer South Indian and popular North Indian and Chinese dishes free of Ajinomoto and artificial colours.
Breakfast will be available from 6 a.m. Idly, ghee pongal, rava kichadi are some of the items on this menu. A mini tiffin that includes idly, mini vada, pongal, mini plain dosa and mini coffee or tea will be available from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. It is priced at Rs 40.
A variety of lunch options, including South Indian meals, variety rice and North Indian thali priced in the range of Rs. 70 to Rs. 180 are offered from 12 noon onwards.
The customers at this restaurant seem to like their snacks – medhu vada, and bajji. And Chettinad snacks, including kuli paniyaram, keerai vada, valaipoo vada, coconut boli and masala boli (shown in picture) are popular here.
Veechu parotta, cheese dosa, kaima parota, Viruthu Nagar parota, and chilli parota are the items available for dinner besides the commonly available dishes.
The restaurant, spread across two floors offers a dining facility at the ground floor. A two-wheeler parking facility is available at its basement but some Mylaporeans have pointed out that this joint misuses the pavement.
On its first floor, a party and banquet hall is set to open in a few weeks.
