With the north east monsoon expected to arrive in a few months, Corporation officials are getting ready to clear the storm water drains in the neighbourhood.
T. Iniyan, Greater Chennai Corporation’s assistant executive engineer of the Mylapore area, says, “We have submitted a proposal to get several storm water drains in the all the wards desilted. The proposal should be accepted in a couple of weeks. Once we start the work, it will take atleast two months for us to complete it. We first intend to concentrate on roads that fall under bus routes like R. K. Mutt Road, St. Mary’s Road, C. P. Ramaswamy Road and R. A. Puram 2nd Main Road. Work on the inner streets will be taken up after that”.
