The neighbourhood of Our Lady of Guidance Church wore a festive look with flags and lights on the streets and inside the church as the parish celebrated its annual feast recently.
The celebrations had begun with the hoisting of the flag by former parish priest Rev Fr. P. S. Kanickairaj on August 9.
Every evening since then, Novena and Masses were held and former priests of the parish were invited to be celebrants.
On August 17 evening, a car procession of the beautifully decorated statue of Mary was taken out- it covered Lazarus Church Road, San Thome High Road, Jonehan Street, K M NStreet, Lazarus Church Road before getting back to the church.
That evening’s Holy Mass was celebrated by Vicar General Rev. Fr. Maria Amalraj. The feast culminated with the lowering of the flag and Holy Mass by Rev. Fr. Stanley Sebastian, Vicar General on August 18.
