Sankranti Organics’ promoter Ramanathan proposes to offer his organic products on sale at the main gate of Nageswara Rao Park, Luz on weekend mornings. “This is more of a safe food awareness effort and not a sale outlet,” he says.
Part of the organic farmers collective, Ramanathan has traditional rice varieties like kichili samba, jeeraga samba, thooyamalli and sona masuri, cold pressed oils, pulses, sweeteners, rock salt and millet-based snacks.
Ramanathan says his collective has aggregated a number of small and marginal farmers who
cultivate only organic food crops and that middle-men are not involved in this business.
