Mylapore-based NGO Thuvakkam, which will be completing five years this August, will be marking Independence Day (August 15) at Nageswara Rao Park, Luz with a flag hoisting ceremony followed by a talk on rain water harvesting.
S. Krishna Kumar Suresh, the founder of Thuvakkam, says, “Eight of us learnt all about rain water harvesting from water management expert Sekar Raghavan of Rain Centre recently. For about 12 weeks, he took classes during the weekends and also took us along for various assignments.
“We intend to share whatever we learnt and hopefully increase awareness about rain water harvesting”.
