Shivanugraha Trust and Sivan Fine Arts Academy is organising a music and dance festival on the compositions of Dr. Rukmini Ramani from Aug 25 to 27 at Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet.
On Aug 25, the chief guest is Prof. Prameela Gurumurthy, vice chancellor, Tamilnadu Music and Fine Arts University. The guests of honour are M. N. Raja, state vice president, BJP Tamilnadu and industrialist, D. G. Rajan, industrialist and chartered accountant and Cleveland V. V. Sundaram. ‘Vatsala Kalyanam’, composed by Dr. Rukmini Ramani will be presented followed by a bharatanatyam performance by Srekala Bharath and Thejas. A book and CD will be released.
Vocalists who will sing on Aug 26 and 27 include Brinda Manickavachagam and Gayathri Girish. A lec-dem ‘A glimpse of the Nritta and Abhinaya aspect’ on Dr. Rukmini Ramani’s compositions will be given by Padmalakshmi Suresh, director, Padmalaya on the last day.
