In order to facilitate the staff working at schools, colleges, and other companies in enrolling /updating details on the Aadhar card, the staff of R. A. Puram post office will be conducting Aadhar camps at their premises.
The first of such camps is to be held at Chennai High School off Sringeri Mutt Road on July 15 and 16.
Recently, the Department of Posts has asked all the post offices coming under it to conduct such camps. And R. A. Puram Post office has started it now.
“Though there is a separate counter for Aadhar enrollment/updation at our post office, office-goers are not able to come during their working hours. So in order to help them, we are conducting two-day Aadhar camps at their premises. The staff, their family members and students of the corresponding organization can also avail this facility,” says S. K. Syed Mohammed, Public Relations Inspector, R. A. Puram post office.
Mohammed says that they would send letters regarding this to organizations located in R. A. Puram on a periodic basis. “After receiving them the schools/colleges can revert to us with their preferred days for holding the Aadhar camp. The camp is set to start at Chennai High School off Sringeri Mutt Road on July 15 and 16,” he says.
“Because of our limited resources we would not be able to help the public near the schools/colleges in Aadhar updation/enrollment,” he says.
At the camp, Aadhar enrollment would be free. For updating the name, address, or any other detail Rs. 50 will be charged. The facility of opening a postal savings account and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) will also be available during the camp.
