To mark International Nurses Day on May 12, Billroth Hospital in R.A.Puram is conducting a series of cultural programs for the nurses and staff members of the hospital.
On May 6, a rangoli competition took place inside their premises. All the nurses, housekeeping staff and a few lady doctors participated in it.
“In order to entertain our staff and to provide them an environment to break free from their routine life, we conduct such contests every year. At the end of the competitions we distribute prizes too,” says V. Bhuvaneshwari, Nursing superintendent.
This past week the hospital has conducted different competitions like slogan writing and poster designing. And tomorrow a cookery contest will be held.
“We always look forward to the rangoli competition,” says a nurse as she was drawing the rangoli.
Prior to the competition, the nurses have planned well to take part in the rangoli contest, which was held in the afternoon. They had either completed their work earlier or they had assigned them to those who did not participate in the competition.
“On May 19, at Muthamizh Peravai, T.N.Rajarathinam Kalaiarangam, R.A.Puram, we will be conducting few more events like drama, dance and music,” she adds.
