Chennai Metro contractors have begun soil testing work on TTK Road, Alwarpet and on Luz Church Road.
Just now, the work is on at three places on TTK Road.
This is carried out as a part of the corridor 4 of Chennai Metro rail’s phase 2 project.
The corridor 4 from Lighthouse to Poonamallee will pass through San Thome – Kutchery Road – Thirumayilai Metro – Alwarpet – Bharathidasan Road – Adyar Gate Jn.
Recently, the residents of Alwarpet held a second meeting to debate the implications of the Metro project.
Some large stores in Luz / Alwarpet are making plans to move to a new location; Palam Silks on Luz Church Road has opened a new store on Musiri Road.
