On May 30 evening, BJP party cadres celebrated the swearing-in of prime minister Narendra Modi at South Canal Bank Road, Mandaveli.
Modi was sworn in as prime Minister for the second term at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi after the BJP’s victory in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
Some 50 party members burst crackers and distributed sweets (sakkarai pongal and laddoo) to the public near the Adi Sivan Temple at the junction of South Canal Bank Road and R K Mutt Road.
Women volunteers took out a procession while holding banners and party flags along South Canal Bank Road.
“We celebrated the occasion in all the wards in Mylapore today,” said K. S. Raju, BJP’s Mylapore area general secretary.
