Polling booths are being readied for the polling day on April 18 when the state votes in the Lok Sabha elections.
Since Friday, lorries have been carting all that is required at the booths, including the EVMs and ancillary equipment, notice boards and displays of all the candidates besides water and furniture.
Workers went about their business through the weekend even as local police secured the booth venues and are on round-the-clock duty.
At Rani Meyyammai Girls School on R. K. Mutt Road in R. A. Puram, work was on through Saturday, with police on guard 24×7.
Similar activity is on at the polling booths across the neighbourhood, most parts of which fall under Chennai South constituency.
Areas west of TTK Road and north of Dr R K Salai fall under Chennai Central constituency.
