Uraththa Sinthanai, a social welfare and literary association, is celebrating its 35th anniversary on March 23 at P. S. School, Mylapore. Dr. Vijaya Raghavan, director, Tamil Development Department, writer Thiruppur Krishnan and film director Vasanth Sai will be the guests at the event.
97 year old V. Kalyanam, who served as Mahatma Gandhi’s personal assistant, will be honoured. Awards will be given to Tamil scholars, writers and social workers. Scholarships will be given to students too. At 6 p.m.
