Vimor, a sari store from Bengaluru, is exhibiting a range of old saris and designs that have been revived along with silk and cotton handloom saris, at Alwarpet this weekend. Vimor was established in 1974 by Chimy Nanjappa and her daughter Pavithra Muddaya with them collecting and selling antique temple saris.
At the Chennai exhibition, they are exhibiting few old saris and some designs that they have revived and were a part of the exhibition at the India International Centre in Delhi last year. The exhibit also includes designs that are part of the textile heritage in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Banaras. These will be on sale along with other contemporary sari designs and unisex sarongs/ lungies developed for the Rajasthan Heritage Week
The sale is on Mar 22 and 23, 11 a.m. At the C.P. Art Centre, Eldams Road, Alwarpet.
