A three day national conference on ‘The Mahabharata in Indian art and culture’, organised by C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Institute of Indological Research, will be held from March 14 to 16.
The conference will be inaugurated on March 14 by Prof. Arvind P. Jamkhedkar, chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research. The inaugural event will be held at C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation, Alwarpet. In the evening, a classical dance presentation ‘Sambhavami Yuge Yuge’ will be given by the students of The Grove School, Alwarpet at M. Ct. M School, Luz.
On March 15, a puppet show, ‘Panchala Kuravanji’, will be presented by Periyasamy from Tiruchi at C. P. Art Centre.
Prof. Koenraad Elst, Belgian orientalist and indologist, will present the valedictory address on March 16. An exhibition will be on display at the Shakuntala Art Gallery.
