R. R. Sabha gets a new rooftop restaurant

Spoonfeed, a rooftop vegetarian restaurant has recently opened on the 4th floor of Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Mylapore. The 4000 sq ft rooftop restaurant has a capacity of 80 at a time.

“The capacity can be extended to 100 -120 by adding extra chairs outside”, said R. Vaithiyanathan, secretary of R. R. Sabha and owner of the restaurant. “One can get an aerial view of the whole Mylapore here including Kapali temple tower, lighthouse, Santhome Church, Marina and other prominent landmarks”.

Some of the food items available here include vadai, bonda, french fries. Their pizza pockets (a fry of basic pizza toppings like cheese, corn), jalapeno poppers and samosas have already become popular among school children.

“I love the pizza pockets. I get a flavour of pizza in it”, said a student. “I also like the small samosas. Since they give three pieces at Rs. 20, it is affordable too”.

The tables and chairs are made of teak wood. The interiors are a mix of old and new. The restaurant is lit in a combination of old tungsten lanterns and led lamps. The ceiling is made of ash plywood, a fireproof material.

The items are priced between Rs. 20 to Rs. 30. Restaurant timings: 3 pm to 8 pm on weekdays.

Located at 30/1, Sundareswarar Street, Mylapore, Mylapore. Ph:  24641767.
