Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, is conducting a Leprosy Awareness Programme on Feb 3. The Math is engaged in the Rehabilitation of Leprosy Cured but Deformed Persons for the past 32 years. Nearly 1600 persons from Chennai, Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur districts have been rehabilitated so far. 12 special self help groups have been formed to solve all their financial, social and other problems. They also provide food and basic facilities to people visiting leprosy hospitals for treatment.
The program will be preceded by an eye camp conducted by Sankara Nethralaya. The event will be held at the Math between 10 a.m. to 5.35 p.m. and is open to all.
