Feb 9. The air is warm with an occasional light breeze. The children of Chettinad Vidyalaya who have gathered at Chettinad Vidyashram’s playground for their sports day are excited. They have been practising for this event for a few weeks now.
Soon the chief guest, V. Sivaramakrishnan, former Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy and south zone cricketer, arrives. The event starts with a prayer. A well synchronized march past follows. The torch is then lit.
It is now the turn of the students to display an eye catching mash-up of eastern and western aerobics. The day ends with a sports fashion show, sprints and relay races.
