The Alwarpet Christmas Street Fest unfolds on Sunday, Dec.9. The lights and stars were switched on on Friday and the north end of C. P. Ramaswamy Road is decorated.
Participating stores will have special offers and/or limited time discounts on these days. The participating stores are Azurina, Brass Tacks, City Bed Emporium, Gramiyaa, Kimono, Maahikhas, Raave Christmas Store, Samasta, Saanskrutie, Silver Moonlight and Sudi Store.
Others taking part are Skinsense Luxury Natural Soaps and Body Products, Tickle Truck Ice Cream, Ardvaark Christmas Decor (made from natural waste), Banyan with its beautiful handmade baskets and bags, Naturals Salon, Garden Store, Naina’s Kitchen serving chaat, khakras, and snacks, Tameen’s Jams, Jyothi’s baskets, balloon sellers, popcorn, Baby’s Breath baby clothes, Padmavathy Handmade Clips, sugarcane juice, Royal Sandwich Shop’s specials and Tosai’s big variety of gourmet dosas.
“We’ve included more attractions for children as we noticed that there were many young children who attended this fest last year,” says Dipu Krishnamurthi, one of the fair’s ideators.
Open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The fair will be open again the Sunday after, Dec.16
