Talk on ‘Geology of Madras’. Nov.10 evening.

Singanenjam Sambandam, former director of the Geological Survey of India will talk on “Geology  of Madras’ on Nov. 10, 6.15 p.m. onwards at Arkay Centre, Luz,
This talk is being organised by  Madras Local History Group as a part of monthly lecture series. 

Sambandam intends to answer questions like why the Metro which is underground all along Anna Salai up to Adyar river, runs over the road to the south of the river, why the hills which make the topography in Pallavaram, Thirusulam and St. Thomas Mount area are not found to the north of Adyar river, why there is lagoon in the north, a marsh land in Pallikkaranai and shell bearing clay formations below Anna University campus.
