15 teams, including 12 from the Mylapore area, were seen tackling the ball at a football match held at the playground at St. Mary’s Road on Sep 23.
Teenagers and young adults aged 18 to 30 years took part in this open tournament held to mark social activist and politician Periyar E. V. Ramaswamy’s birthday.
K. Sugumaran, one of the organisers, says, “The team from Visalakshi Thottam won the match. The members of the Thanthai Periyar Library at Visalakshi Thottam have been doing this for six years now”.
