The alumni induction for outgoing students of Vidya Mandir, Mylapore was held on June 22 evening at the school premises. Representatives from several organisations including Qube Cinema Technologies, Bhoomika Trust and other NGOs were present at the event to provide food for thought to the students.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the principal of the school Shobha Raman. She also talked about the support extended by the association including the recent installation of an elevator at the school, the renovation of toilets and the annual contribution of Rs. 1.2 lakhs for students admitted under RTE Act.
Later the president of the association, M. Kannuswamy, talked about the Group Medical Insurance Scheme for current and retired teachers and staff instituted by the association a few years ago, insurance claims of over 30 lakhs have been settled till date.
He also talked about the need for students to give back to the school and society.
