The Alwarpet flyover became the gallery for curious motorists to peek at the drama at the gates of Kauvery Hospital where DMK leader M. Karunanidhi has been for two days after he had a serious setback to his health.
The latest bulletin from Kauvery Hospital said that Karunanidhi’s condition is stable.
But many cadres continue to keeo vigil or spend time outside the hospital gates. And the crowd grew so big that police bounded off Luz Church Road at one end, directing vehicles to take the Luz Avenue on Saturday.

To use the word “drama” to describe the gathering of anxious people outside the Kauvery Hospital is not appropriate. Kalaignar stood for the welfare of the poor and the depressed class of society and for the enrichment of the Tamil language.
