Azhwar’s daughter happy to manage the popular pavement books stall

All is well with the popular street-side book shop run by Azhwar and his family.

There was some chatter on social media recently wondering how best this hawker stall that sells second-hand books of all kinds could be sustained – this chatter followed buzz that the stall was not being run on all days – after Azhwar lost his wife some months ago.

His daughter Julie says that she now manages the business and her family supports her. The books are now stacked on old book stands and business is as usual on the pavement off Luz Church Road, near The Mylapore Club.

If people want to help us as well-wishers then there are two ways they can do so, says Julie. Arrange and pay for the power supply we need badly and buy tarpaulin sheets to protect the books from rain and sun.
