As part of the monthly ‘Kutcheri in the park’ organised by Sundaram Finance, 14 year old V. Vasumathy, a class X student of PSBB, KK Nagar presented a lively kutcheri at Nageswara Rao Park, Luz on June 3 morning.
Vasumathy, who is learning music from guru Akila Siva, was accompanied by Chithoor V. Bargavavignesh (disciple of Chithoor C. K. Vijayaraghavan) on the violin and by Anirudh Sriram (disciple of Chrompet G. Suresh Deekshith) on the mridangam.
R. Harikrishnan, GM, Sundaram Finance Ltd., presented certificates and mementos to the artistes.
Launched in February 2006, the idea of the ‘Kutcheri in the Park’ series is to provide opportunities to youngsters below 15 years of age to present in front of an informal park audience amidst chirping birds and falling leaves.
