R. Vijayalakshmi, who has been running a school, Samruthaa Vidyashram, for slow learners and drop outs is a proud teacher. A student of her school Guru Prashad. R scored full marks in accountancy this year, a feat which, she says, is remarkable for a school drop out.
Vijayalakshmi, who started her school in 1990, recalls the time when a dyslexic student with learning difficulties scored 334/400 in the class X state board exams. This she says, motivates her to teach more children.
Students who have failed or who are unable to cope up with the syllabus need not miss a year, they can take their TN state board exams or enroll under the NIOS system, she says.
