The Saraswathi Educational, Cultural and Charitable Trust will be conducting this year’s Vasant Utsav of Dance from May 1 – 11 at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore.
The event will be inaugurated by dancer Dr. Sonal Mansingh. She and several other artistes will be honoured by Gopalkrishna Gandhi, former governor of West Bengal, for their contribution to the field of music and dance.
R. Jaya, commissioner of Hindu religious and charitable endowment department and several other guests will be present at this event. A bharatanatyam recital by Binesh Mahadevan and students of Akshaya Arts will follow.
The trust has been running the festival for over 15 years as a free event. All programmes will be held in the evening, after 5.30 p.m. Contact 9566209426.
