Entry to the Marina beach continues to be regulated in an informal manner. This follows city police securing the place to discourage possible protests by people who are demanding that the centre set up the Cauvery Water Management Board.
Police patrols were in place early on Sunday morning even as a huge number of people went about their morning walks and exercises.
Bikers had no access to the service road and bikes were seen parked on the pavement from the Light House side to the Vivekananda Illam side.
Later, more police teams got off at the Gandhi statue for duty – Sunday draws a large crowd even in the mornings and the police are obviously not taking chance.
Many parts of the service road are barricaded and police are keeping a close eye on groups headed to the Marina
