Artistes, well-wishers and rasikas will be participating in an event to be held on March 6 to felicitate mridangam vidwan J. Vaidhyanathan for having received the Sangeet Natak Academi Award from the President of India.
The event will begin with a konnakkol presentation by B. C. Manjunath from Bangalore followed by ‘Layavinyasam’ by thavil artistes Thirupoongur T. G. Muthukumarasami and Sivapuri T. R. P. Ramamurthy.
J. Vaidyanathan’s guru Dr. T. K. Murthy, violinist T. Rukmini, Y. Gee. Mahendra, Vedanth Ramanujam and carnatic vocalist N. Vijay Siva will felicitate.
At Raga Sudha Hall, Luz, 6.30 p.m. onwards. Open to all.
