An exhibition titled ‘Vahanas – vehicles of the Gods’ has been organised at Shakuntala Art Gallery, C. P. Art Center from tomorrow. This is to celebrate the Panguni Uthiram festival at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple.
The exhibition will run from Mar 21 to 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The exhibition showcases line drawings and photos of all the vahanams which feature in the Panguni festival. There are also big and small models of the carriers.
The big ones have been donated for the exhibition by Indra Brass Metal Pooja Stores, Mylapore and the small ones are on loan from Shakuntala Jaganathan Museum, Kancheepuram.
A dance performance ‘Vande Parvati Paramesvarau’ by Lavanya Ananth has been scheduled for Mar 31, 11 a.m.
