What probably caught the attention of the audience who had gathered at MGR Janaki College’s annual day was the beautifully executed thematic dance presentation ‘ Dasavatharam’. The efforts the girls had made were evident in the precise way in which the piece was presented.
Dr. Premeela Gurumurthy, vice chancellor, Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University, Chennai was the chief guest at this event held at the college premises on Feb 21. She gave a thought provoking speech on the importance of culture and relevance of music in modern times.
The special guest Dr. Palani. G. Periasamy, chairman, Le Royal Meridien, distributed the proficiency prizes.
