Students of three local schools – Vidya Mandir, Luz, P. S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore and St. John’s, Mandaveli won 8 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals at the karate and kobudo national championship organised by IKKAI Isshinryu Karate Association of India at Pune during the last week of December.
Srihari. K, a class VI student at P. S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore and 6 year old Vaishnavi. S, a class I student at Vidya Mandir, Luz and the youngest participant in the tournament, won the grand championship.
