Vaikunta Ekadasi falls on Dec 29 this year. Here are some of the events planned at three temples in the Mylapore area.
-At Sri Vedanta Desikar Temple, Mylapore, viswaroopa darshanam will be held at 3 a.m. and paramapada vasal sevai will be held at 4.00 a.m. At 5.30 a.m. a garuda sevai will be held followed by veedi purappadu. The temple will be open throughout the day. The main deities will decorated with pearls (muthangi sevai).
The first day of ra pathu will be celebrated with a purappadu inside the temple at 6.30 p.m. For details contact 24953799.
-Viswaroopa darshanam will be held at 3 a.m. at Sri Adi Kesava Perumal Temple, Mylapore followed by paramapada vasal sevai at 4.30 a.m. At 5 a.m., a ‘Pathi ulathal’ sevai will be held at the temple mandapam. A garuda sevai with veedi purappadu will follow. The main deities will be decorated with precious stones (vajrangi sevai). A veedi purappadu will also be held in the evening at 9 p.m. For details contact 24643873.
-At Sri Madhava Perumal Temple, Mylapore, paramapada vasal sevai will be held at 5.30 a.m. The deity will adorn a special alankaram in the morning. A veedi purappadu will follow.
In the evening, pearls (muthangi sevai) will be used to decorate the deity. An ul purappadu to mark the first day of Ra Pathu will be held.
