On Dec 7, Sri Kapaleeswarar (moolavar) at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore will adorn a gold nagabharanam made on funds donated by the thakkar of the temple Vijayakumar Reddy and his wife Preetha Reddy. The nagabharanam has been made by the jeweller Vummidi Bangaru Srihari Sons with 7.5 kgs of gold at a cost of Rs. 2.75 crores.
Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam guru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal is the special invitee for this event. On Thursday morning, the event will start off with the poorna kumba mariyadai for the guru. A vinayakar pooja and an abhishekam for the Sri Kapaleeswarar (moolavar) will follow. After 11.30 a.m., the deity will adorn the nagabharanam after which the deepa aradhanai will be held.
