There are people who drive down to the Marina to take in the monsoon atmosphere. But if you do so after dark, you may want to be forewarned.
Rainwater floods many sections of the service road – the road between the sands and the landscaped space. And the waters rise quickly after a good spell of rain and this can pose problems to drivers of cars. Your car may stall as the water enters the engine or exhaust.
The beach lighting is also patchy but the police patrols and posts are active till late. There are also a few food hawkers around.
So if you decide to head to the beach, do so in daylight.
