The 43rd ‘Art Festival’ at Kartik Fine Arts will be inaugurated by former governor of West Bengal Gopalkrishna Gandhi on Dec 1 at Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet. He will confer the title of ‘Isai Peroli’ on S. Mahathi and the title of ‘Nadanamamani’ on T. Bhavya Ramachandran.
K. M. Narasimhan, president, Kartik Fine Arts, presides. K. N. Ramaswamy, director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra is the guest of honour. A dance recital by Ramaa Adhithi Venkat, disciple of S. K. Kameswaran and Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, and her daughter Samyuktha Raman will follow.
The festival will go on till Jan 5, 2018. Noted artistes including Akkarai Sisters, Sikkil Gurucharan, Dr. K. J. Yesudoss, Trichur Brothers, Gayathri Girish, Sriranjani Santhanagopalan will perform at this event. Dance dramas and instrumental concerts will be held too.
