Perambalur
‘s special sweets and savouries outlet Aswin’s, has a branch at Mylapore. Having established in 2003 as a small scale industry, Aswin’s Home Special Sweets and Snacks, it has branches across Perambalur, Trichy and Chennai.
The founder of the company is K. R. V Ganesan and he began the chain as an effort to employ differently-abled and rural folk. The franchisee at Mylapore is Vivek Rajendran.
The snacks are made using traditionally stone-ground dough and with farm fresh millets; products like ragi porridge, pearl millet porridge, ragi balls, sesame seed balls, and fox tail millet balls are made using pure honey.
At festival-time, special packs are also available. The outlet also serves ‘tiffin’ in the morning and evening and meals during lunch time. Catering orders are undertaken. Sugar free sweets, podis, thokkus and pickles can also be picked up at the store.
