Chennai Volunteers, a social initiative aimed at helping the poor and founded by Rinku Mecheri, has set up a pop-up store ‘Karma Store’ at Root Trust, San Thome. Root Trust, an NGO that operates out of San Thome, provides free education to the poor.
The store will stock essential items like soaps, toothpaste, clothing for men and women, footwear and
bedsheets. It will be open on Saturdays only, in the evening. Those who want to donate new or gently-used clothes and other essentials (must be in good condition) can do so. Volunteers are needed too. Contact Chennai Volunteers at 66097766 or visit www.chennaivolunteers.org.
