The San Thome unit of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul will celebrate its 85th annual day on Sunday, Sept.24 at the San Thome cathedral campus hall.
This community group serves the poor and needy, holding health screening camps, arranging medical aid for the poor and running a clinic inside the cathedral campus.
This unit is said to be the oldest in the Madras-Mylapore diocese.
The unit collaborates with hospitals to hold eye/diabetes/heart screening and tests.
The Sunday event which includes the AGM starts at 11 am in the presence of parish priest Fr. Louis Mathias and ends with lunch.
A A Michael Raj is president and A Sarprasadanathan is vice-president of this unit.
