Dr. Shoba Ramakrishnan, a resident of Mylapore, has co-authored a book on chemistry titled ‘Essentials of Analytical Chemistry’.
She says this book is aimed at making the study of analytical chemistry “a joyful experience for aspiring chemistry students, breaking down complex concepts into simpler ones.” This text will also benefit those preparing for competitive examinations such as NET, SLET, GATE, and the UPSC Civil Services exam. It contains numerous review questions, solved problems.
Shoba is the former head of the department of chemistry, Women’s Christian College (WCC). Her career at WCC spanned over three decades. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has also held multiple positions, including member of the academic council at the University of Madras.
She is also an artist and had held a number of painting exhibitions nationally and internationally.
The co-author is Dr. Banani Mukhopadhyay, resident of Valasaravakkam, who is an assistant professor at WCC.
