Vidya Mandir Alumni Association (VMAA) will be hosting two tournaments next week. The first – Gautam double wicket tournament for all TNCA first division clubs will be held on June 17 and 24.
There will be 12 teams divided into four groups. Each team will play two league games with the topper qualifying for the semi-finals. The league stage will be four over contests while the knockouts will be six overs per team.
VMAA will also continue to host the annual inter-school double wicket tournament (U-14) conducted in memory of past student N. Gautam, former Tamil Nadu and Goa all-rounder who succumbed to cancer in 2003. The school tournament will be held on June 18 and 24. A total of 16 city schools have been invited to participate.
Both the tournaments will be held at Marina Grounds. The finals will be held on June 25 in the evening followed by the prize distribution ceremony.
