Bharatha Natyalaya, an academy of dance and music, run by dancer-guru Roja Kannan, will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on July 6 and 7 at Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet.
On the first day, Roja Kannan and her disciples will showcase the choreographies of late guru Adyar. K. Lakshman. Dr. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman is the chief guest on that day and Prof. Sudharani Raghupathy, Nandini Ramani and Dr Anita Ratnam will be the guests of honour.
On July 7, at the programme titled ‘Nrithyopacaram – The legacy continues’, Roja Kannan and her
disciples will present her choreographies done over the past three decades. Dr. Padma Subramanyam is
the chief guest and Ranganayaki Jayaraman, V. P. Dhananjayan and Shantha Dhananjayan and Savithri
Jagannatha Rao are the guests of honour. At T. T. K. Road, Alwarpet.
