· Rajam Store at R. A. Puram – A family run store, which stocks home-made vathals, vadams, appalams and more. Started by Srinivsa Iyer in the 1950s, his family continue to run the business. At 7, Second Cross Road, R. A. Puram. Ph: 24347173.
· Lakshmi Home Foods – Chenchu Lakshmi is busy during the summer making a whole stock of the fried items. In addition to time tested variants, she also experiments and comes up with new flavours. Her recent addition is a thakkali vadam – truly yummy. Ph: 24996505, 9444849943.
