The Mylapore Police have registered a case against two men who robbed a senior at Mandaveli on Saturday, June 17, night.
According to the police, Ranganathan, aged 65 years and a resident of Mylapore, had parked his car near Thiruvengadam Street, Mandaveli and had gone shopping. On his return, he placed his shopping bags and cash (Rs. 70000) at the rear of the car.
Just when he was getting into his car, two men on a motorcycle distracted him by telling him that a few currency notes had fallen at the back of the car. When Ranganathan got out of the car to check, the duo stole the money and escaped.
An investigation is on to find out the identity of the duo.
