Prof K. S. Ramachandran, retired mathematics professor at Vivekananda College who passed away in July 2016, had a deep interest in Sanskrit.
One of the last pieces of Sanskrit work he did was translating and writing commentary for Shiva Sahasranama. His children have published this as a free book for distribution. Donations, if any, can be made to Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Mylapore.
The book release function will be held on June 18 at Raga Sudha Hall, Luz. Pappu Venugopal Rao, secretary, The Music Academy, presides. The evening is being planned as a “homage in music and memories” to Prof. KSR with prominent musicians presenting his favourite compositions. All are welcome. At 6.30 p.m. Contact 9445011652, 9445116678.
Prof.Kaduganoor Subramaniam Ramachandran
as he is known to me thro his close confidents
was a connoisure of not only sanskrit language
but also have had impeccable adorings for his
mother tongue(Tamil). He used to sign as
Ka.Su.Ramachandran in Tamil when he was
holding the post of Treasurer in the Ramakrishna
Mission Students home.
He was a great mathematician and was richly rewarded by dr.Bhatnagar of Pilani Inst as early as
1965.
He was a unassuming simple person a votary of
ameliarating minions and poor boys.
He and his consort have performed Upanayanam for
poor Brahmin boys year after year at his cost.
He is still with us by his deeds.
This day I dedicate myself heart and soul to him.
