Two huge plastic buckets, about 100L capacity each, are filled with buttermilk everyday. Starting at 12 noon, this buttermilk is distributed to passersby, outside NAC Jewellers on North Mada Street, Mylapore. Plastic tumblers are used, which can be cleaned and reused. ‘We will do this for the duration of the summer’, says the employee whose job it was today to dispense the buttermilk.
