Finally, Thuvakkam is going back to the vandalised wall on Kutchery Road in Mylapore to clean it up all over again. The NGO invites Mylaporeans to join the group on May 12, Saturday night in this 8-hour long operation.
Thuvakkam attempts to voluntarily make public spaces look colorful and bright. Late last year, it cleaned and painted parts of the wall on the bridge across the Buckingham Canal. Within days, posters mostly of AIADMK public meetings were slapped on the ‘arty’ wall.
Despite an uproar, the violators did not repent nor did Chennai Corporation take action.
Now, the NGO has decided to redo this wall and it says it will initiate firm civic and legal action if it is vandalized again. Be at the venue at 9 p.m.
